RanRon Publisher
A private publishing tool used only by the owner of the RanRon Kids YouTube channel to upload and schedule the channel's own episodes.
What it does
RanRon Kids publishes short original animated stories for young children. When an episode has passed the channel's own quality checks and has been approved, RanRon Publisher:
- uploads the approved video to the RanRon Kids channel, always as a private video first;
- applies the episode's title, description, tags, category and language;
- sets the video as Made for Kids;
- sets the approved custom thumbnail;
- adds the video to a playlist, when one is configured;
- schedules the publication date and time;
- reads the video and channel back from YouTube to check that everything was applied, and to make sure the same episode is never uploaded twice.
What it does not do
It does not read or post comments, access viewer, subscriber or analytics data, search YouTube, live stream, or manage monetization or ads. It does not collect any information from viewers.
How it connects to YouTube
RanRon Publisher uses YouTube API Services, through the official YouTube Data API v3. The channel owner signs in with Google OAuth 2.0 and grants two permissions:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload— to upload videos;https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl— to set thumbnails, update video settings and playlists, and read back the channel's own videos.
The resulting credentials are stored only on the owner's computer and are never committed to source control. See the Privacy Policy for details, and the Terms of Use.
